Overview

As part of the survey data interpretation, we will be adding Community Insights. Several the Community Connectors have been working to dig deeper into the data and explore emerging themes. These insights will be posted during the project.

The first item is a manual grouping of responses from the open-ended Question 14:
“What is your vision for what Falmouth should be like in the next 10-20 years?”

  • In total, there were 1,298 essay-type responses to Question 14. They were compiled into categories based on key words or general themes.
  • Three Community Connectors invested roughly 100 hours assigning simple answers in their entirety or dividing the more complex between relevant categories. The original intent was to have a record of resident narrative to balance with graphs and other conclusions going forward.
  • The results that emerged were so interesting that Future iQ invited its publication. It is published on the next tab.

The 1298 responses were split into three groups, and the Community Connectors then assigned the responses to a category, of their determination. Therefore, readers will find some variation in the categorizations. You can scroll through the data and see how many responses in each grouping, and the actual responses.
