Community Reputation

Falmouth has long been a community that people can aspire to live in, and for some people has a reputation as a desirable location.

What should be the future community reputation that Falmouth should strive to achieve? Please select your preference on the following continuum:

  • 1 = ASPIRATIONAL and EXCLUSIVE – The reputation is one of being an aspirational, desirable, and exclusive community, on the outer edge of the Portland metro-area; but insulated from the city hustle.
  • 10 = WELCOMING and OPEN – Falmouth is known as a welcoming, diverse, open, and multi-generational community where all people feel like they belong and can age-in-place, while enjoying a strong community spirit.

Key things to note:

  • The data skews towards ‘Welcoming and Open’. This appears consistent between most cohort groups, but skews slightly more this way in younger demographics.
  • Overall, people under 40 lean more to ‘Welcoming and Open’.
  • People who have lived in Falmouth for more than 20 years skew more to ‘Aspiration and Exclusive’.
