Vision and Values Project Talking Points

The community-driven Vision and Values project will progress and evolve through 2021, culminating in a Vision and Values statement that lays the foundation for Falmouth’s next Comprehensive Plan.

  • The Values and Vision project and the Comprehensive Plan are important avenues through which the residents of the Town can shape and inform the long-term development and direction of the community.
  • The Comprehensive Plan is a planning tool that directs future development in Falmouth and provides long term guidance through sections such as Land Use ordinances.

The first step is Community Survey #1 which is exploring issues and thoughts about the current and future direction of the community.

  • The questions in the Community Survey #1 were created with significant resident input.
  • The results of Survey #1 will be used to help provide direction and content for the Vision and Values statement.

This project is truly ‘Community-Driven’

  • ‘Community-driven’ means that during each phase of the Vision and Values project, Falmouth resident input (including Community Connectors) will help shape future meeting materials and discussions.
  • We want people to stay informed and participate. People can sign up directly at the portal to receive Vision and Values related notices and updates.
  • There will be opportunity for resident review and input into the final Vision and Values statement.

All project-related information is stored on the portal

  • Various reports produced at key stages will document the community input, in an open, transparent and data-driven manner.
  • All summary data and results will be posted on the project portal.
