Community Infrastructure

There has been a lot of discussion and interest in future community amenities and social infrastructure. Amenities can add important services to a community, but they come at a cost.

How would you like to see the future approach to community amenities and infrastructure? Please select your answer on the following continuum:

  • 1 = FOCUS ON LOW COST Investments gradually build on the existing infrastructure only as upgrades are needed. The focus is on cost-efficient investment in only essential infrastructure.
  • 10 = CREATE SHARED AMENITIES: There is an intentional focus on evolving the town’s infrastructure and creating new shared community amenities, such as a town center and more enhanced parks, other recreational activity infrastructure, and amenities that enhance social interaction and sense of community.

Key things to note:

  • The data skews towards the creation of shared infrastructure with nearly 61% of respondents in the 6-10 range.
  • The preference for the creation of shared infrastructure was stronger in the under 40 age groups, and in households with school aged families.
