Respondents were asked:

“The key topic in the strategic planning process has been the approach to industry and business development. Do you think the future focus should be on pursuing tried and tested approaches for familiar industrial sectors, or a strong focus on emerging future-orientated industries?”

SCALE: 1 = FOCUS ON TRADITIONAL INDUSTRIES; to 10 = FOCUS ON EMERGING INDUSTRIES

Key things to note:

There was a wide spread of responses, however the majority of respondents feel that the future focus should be towards the emerging industries continuum.
Those respondents who lived in rural settings were more inclined to consider focusing on traditional industries.
