Thank you to the dedicated Trotwood stakeholders who attended these highly interactive sessions! Each took 60-90 minutes to discuss the City of Trotwood’s communications efforts. The focus groups drilled down into a individual topics of conversation, identified in the first stakeholder survey and discussions at the Public Launch. The focus groups were held at the Goodwill Easter Seals West Campus, 735 E Main St., Trotwood, OH 45426.
The results of these Focus Groups will be compiled with the survey and Public Launch results in the Communications Strategy, to be release in February 2024.
Thursday, November 30, 4:00 – 5:30pm
We want to know how you want to hear from the City going forward. What social media channels should we pursue? What additional communications tools can we incorporate? Due to the nature of these conversations, we especially encourage the City’s younger generation (and/or their parents) to attend this focus group.
Friday, December 1, 9:30 – 11:00am
The City has several methods of communications, such as the website, newsletter, and Facebook page. How do you think we are doing with these? How can we increase accessibility to these channels? We’re interested in which parts of these existing channels are most valuable to you, and which parts we can improve.
Friday, December 1, 12:00 – 1:30pm
The City of Trotwood recently underwent a rebranding. We want to hear your thoughts on both the rebranding and how Trotwood represents itself in general. These discussions will center around Trotwood’s values and sense of community, with the goal of identifying themes to guide City communications in the future.
Friday, December 1, 6:00 – 7:30pm
A common theme from both the survey and launch was a desire for more in-person community and City meetings. This focus group will confirm this importance and begin to determine the logistics of bringing the community together more frequently. We hope to hear from residents of different types of neighborhoods and communities.
Saturday, December 2, 10:00 – 11:30am
As part of building the communications plan, the City of Trotwood would like to build a volunteer base within the community to help with communications. This focus group will discuss what those volunteers may look like, how they can help the City, and interest levels in joining this type of base.
