Overview – Transportation Master Plan

The Smithville Transportation Master Plan will support the vision and goals of the Strategic, Comprehensive, and Parks and Recreation Plans and ensure that the transportation system is well-positioned to support future growth and investment throughout the city.

The Plan will provide an overall approach to providing safety and connectivity for people of all ages who walk, drive, bike, and use other modes. The recommendations will also provide new tools for the city to build high-quality, sustainable infrastructure through consistent use of design guidelines, standards, and organizational systems. The final Transportation Master Plan will include an action plan with prioritized projects and funding sources.

Building on Smithville's Vision, Comprehensive Plan, and Parks & Recreation Master Plan.

To provide continuity with the recent visioning, comprehensive planning, and parks and recreation master planning, the Smithville Transportation Master Plan aims to deliver on the community commitment to connectivity, recreation, and strengthened business and economic development. These items were identified as high priority and critical to shaping the future ‘value-proposition’ and appeal of the community.
