Respondents were asked the open-ended question “As we begin the community visioning process for the Greenwood Comprehensive Master Plan, in your view what are the three most important things we should keep in mind?”
In planning for the future, respondents stressed the importance of maintaining the City’s charm and small-town identity, while at the same time incorporating modern infrastructure and addressing potential congestion, road maintenance, and traffic management. Many stressed the CMP process must be inclusive of the community voices. There was a strong call for responsible development that balances economic progress with protection of the City’s rural nature and green spaces. Respondents highlighted the need to foster a vibrant local economy by nurturing small businesses. Many emphasized that the plan should help improve everyday living – through better public spaces, schools, and community services – so that Greenwood remains a great place to live and raise a family.
