Think-Tank

The Vermont Forest Future Think-Tank was the second step in the public engagement process. The Think-Tank process has been conducted in two parts via highly participatory 3-hour workshops that will produce a preferred future scenario validated by its participants.

The scenario-based Think-Tank is a tool to gain better understanding of priorities and goals that contribute to the creation of effective strategies and actions. The goal of the Vermont Forest Future Strategic Plan and Roadmap project is to identify opportunities to help Vermont chart a path forward to protect the long-term viability of forest-based businesses – and the many benefits they provide to the state’s environment, economy, and quality of life.

Scenarios of the Future Report

The findings from the Vermont Forest Future Think-Tank are summarized and discussed in the Scenarios of the Future Report.

The Think-Tank workshops developed four in-depth potential Scenarios of the Future for the Vermont forest economy. These very different directions for the Vermont forest economy were deemed plausible by the Advisory Panel. Download the PDF below to read more.
