Two Community Update sessions will be held on February 19 & 20. These sessions are an opportunity to learn more about the Strategic Action Plan process and how you can contribute to this vision of the future for Traverse City.
Six Focus Group sessions will be held between February 18 and 20. These 2-hour facilitated discussions will cover topics identified as critical to the future of Traverse City. The Focus Groups will explore a series of crucial questions and help to synthesize community and stakeholder input from the engagement so far.

One of the initial steps in the process was the Traverse City Strategic Action Plan Think-Tank, held over two sessions on Tuesday, October 8 and Wednesday, October 9. Think-Tank attendees explored emerging macro trends, key drivers shaping the future of the City and crafted a series of plausible future scenarios. We invite you to read the Think-Tank report below.
The objective of the strategic planning process is to build on Traverse City’s current success and incorporate new actions to maintain this success over the next 5 years. The outcome of this process, running October 2024 through May 2025, will be to produce a robust, comprehensive and sustainable Strategic Action Plan.
