Collaborative Partnership with the Smithville Community

Respondents were asked about the level of respect for educations and teachers in the Smithville community. They were asked: Looking ahead to an anticipated shortage of teachers across the country, the School District will need to compete for the high quality of teachers that currently exists in Smithville. Do you think that the role of education and teachers is sufficiently valued and respected in the Smithville community? (Scale: 1 = Not at all valued or respected; 10 = Highly valued and respected)

Key things to note:

  • Approximately 62% of survey respondents lean towards thinking that the role of education and teachers is sufficiently valued and respected in the Smithville community, where approximately 37% lean away.
  • These results indicate the need for the community to work harder to value and respect the role of education and teachers in Smithville.
