OVERVIEW - PARKS AND RECREATION MASTER PLAN

The Parks and Recreation Master Plan will provide a ten-year vision and plan for parks, recreation, open space, and trails in the City of Smithville. This is an exciting period of development in the community, and it is an ideal time to plan ahead with goals and outcomes for 2030.

Building on Smithville's Vision and Comprehensive Plan.

To provide continuity with the recent visioning and Comprehensive Planning works, the Smithville 2030 Park and Recreation Master Plan aims to deliver on the community commitment to recreation, connectivity and maintaining the small-town community oasis feel. These items were identified as high priority and critical to shaping the future ‘value-proposition’ and appeal of the community.

THE PROCESS OF DEVELOPING THE SMITHVILLE 2030 PARK AND RCREATION MASTER PLAN INCLUDES WORKING CLOSELY WITH THE LOCAL COMMITTEE AND CITY STAFF, AS WELL AS SIGNIFICANT COMMUNITY INPUT. COMMUNITY INPUT INCLUDES SURVEY, DISCUSSION BOARDS AND ON-SITE COMMUNITY PRESENTATIONS. COPIES OF ALL SURVEY RESULTS AND COMMUNITY INPUT WILL BE POSTED TO THIS PORTAL.
