Respondents were asked an open-ended question: Over the next 10-15 years, what do you see as Jasper’s unique niche (or strategic position) within the surrounding region?
In 10-15 years, respondents envision Jasper’s long-term regional niche as a clean, safe, economically strong hub that anchors employment, services, recreation, and culture for surrounding communities while at the same time maintaining the small-town character and quality of life that distinguish it within the region. The City is supported by strong manufacturing, industry and a skilled workforce and serves as a regional healthcare, education and services hub. With its central location within Dubois County, many respondents envision Jasper as a premier destination location for healthcare, services, parks, recreation, arts and culture. Some respondents anticipate that Jasper will maintain its reputation for competence and forward-thinking leadership and will continue to be intentional about growth and better planned than nearby towns.
