Industry Research Focus

Respondents were asked to respond to a question about:

CHIROPRACTIC INDUSTRY RESEARCH FOCUS:

“The Chiropractic industry does not have a deep history of publishing research in broader industry journals and settings. As a result, the techniques rely on first-hand experience and existing training curriculum. Looking forward, what do you think should be the future research focus of the industry?”

SCALE (1-10):
1 = Continue with existing scope and amount of research.
10 = Invest resources to develop more published research in mainstream journals.

Key things to note:

  • This data skews strongly to the right-hand side of the continuum, highlighting a desire to move in that direction. The strong response on the 10 point on the scale reflects a level of perceived importance.
  • This desire ‘Invest resources to develop more published research in mainstream journals’ has been a repeated theme throughout the visioning and planning work. This focus is seen as critical to the reputation and validation of the profession.

Survey respondents were also given the opportunity to provide open ended responses, as to ‘WHY’ they chose that point on the scale.
