Abbeville County 2035 Think-Tank

One of the initial steps in the Abbeville County 2035 Strategic Plan process was a two-part Think-Tank Workshop on February 28 and March 1.

Participants explored emerging macro trends, key drivers shaping the County’s future, and crafted a series of plausible future scenarios. This was an engaging and interactive scenario-planning workshop that took place over two sessions.

Session 1: Explore Future Trends

February 28: 8:30am – 12:00pm
Founders Room, Moffatt Dining Hall, Erskine College

This 3-hour session consisted of a presentation of macro trends that could impact Abbeville County, followed by driver identification, build out of the drivers, and the ranking of the individual drivers impacting the county.

Session 2: Build Future Scenarios

March 1: 8:30am – 12:00pm
Founders Room, Moffatt Dining Hall, Erskine College

This 3-hour session included a brief overview of the previous session’s results, break out groups and scenario narrative development, scenario presentations, and plausibility mapping of the Least Desired, Expected, and Preferred Futures for Abbeville County.
